The U.S. Department of State extended their travel alerts for Mexico this week, adding two more Mexican states that American travelers should avoid. Both Durango and Coahuila northern Mexico were added to the areas that U.S. citizens are better left alone.  The killings of four Americans in late 2009 and early 2010 prompted the alert.
