Would you take $471,000 to Jamaica?
If you answered yes – stop what you’re doing….you’re an idiot.
Apparently you’re only allowed to take $10,000 with you when you travel to Jamaica. Two American women did not know about this rule when they visited there last week – and the Jamaican officials took their money.
There is currently no public explanation as to why the women had that much money on them, and you have to admit – there aren’t a lot of valid reasons for them to have had it. Still, if this turns out to be a situation where the women just cashed out their investments while they still had some money left in them and went to retire…well no…it’s still stupid. There’s no reason in the world that you should carry that kind of cash around.
So…just a note…don’t go to Jamaica with more than $10,000 – or they’ll keep it…and you will be sad.

that is correct but, u have to declare the money with the custom officials. if u fill out the custom forms correctly on the plane then they cant take it. u’ll have to explain why ur carrying that kind of cash of course but, at least u wont lose ur “spending money.”
