A long, long time ago the city of Paris was growing at an alarming rate. It became increasingly necessary to provide more space for people to live. After much debate, it was decided by the engineers and planners of the day to move out the one human population that wouldn’t complain…the dead.
In one of the largest engineering feats in history Millions of Parisian remains were deposited along the wall of the passageways lying beneath Paris. It was dubbed “The Catacombs” and it is still there today.
Thousands of people each year venture through this, gawking at the remains of the dead, snapping photographs and — sometimes — reporting ghostly encounters. It’s not really surprising that people would feel uncomfortable walking through one of, if not the, largest mass graves in the world – but many people report more than that.
There have been hundreds of reports of people being “grabbed” or “touched”, and many people have snapped photos with very odd “ghostly” images in them. For these reasons, Haunted American Tours has named the Catacombs the most haunted place in the world.

The Catacombs is one of the places I would like to visit and investigate in my life. Given the history of the location it is sure to have paranormal activity for some time to come.
