According to the Financial Times Carnival is having trouble navigating the vast sea of the travel industry. The company is facing weaker demand for its cruises, and the rising cost of fuel isn’t helping either.

While it’s possible that fuel costs could retreat at some point in the near future, the growing decline of the world economy is certainly causing a strain on Carnival’s bottom line.

You never know, however, where Carnival will end up. With a few well priced promotions, and a little easing on the fuel prices, and things could be looking up in no time. Regardless, those interested in a Carnival cruise would be advised to keep their eye out for some great discounted deals as Carnival tries to fill space on ships if need be.
