Not everyone wants to spend the winter holidays with a cup of hot chocolate next to a fire watching “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
For those of you that want to get out and see the world this holiday season, you can find some great winter cruises at very affordable rates. Here are 5 tips to help you get the best deal and plan the trip that’s right for you.
5. Hot or Cold? – You have some great choices this time of year, and they don’t all have to be fun in the sun. If you do want to spend the holidays on the beach, you can find cheaper rates to places like the Caribbean and South America during the winter. You can also find trips to Asia and Australia as well.
You might, however, want to take a trip to see the Northern Lights – which are only visible from November to March each year. It’ll be a little chilly up there – but man…what a sight!
Just remember, either way, you have options – and even if you choose a cold destination – you may pass many warm spots along the way!
4. Airfare included! – Many bundled deals this time of year can include your airfare – so shop around, talk to your travel agent, and find a killer deal. Bundling services together often results in an overall lower bill. So do your research.
3. Take the family! – Want to do something really special for the holidays this year? Bundling your services can also reduce your cost if you bundle in the entire family. The more people you have – the less it can cost per person, so consider this when you’re planning your trip. If you have extended family that might be interested in making the trip with you (without making your miserable) invite them along!
2. Don’t forget the Internet – Most cruises have Internet access these days, but you may want to make sure you have access to the outside world this time of year. If you don’t spend the holidays with your extended family – you may still want to wish them well, read their holiday greetings, and send photos of just how much better a time you’re having than they are…and you can’t do that without the world wide web!
1. Pack accordingly! – Sure, it seems obvious – but you’d be surprised how often people don’t pack for each climate they’re going to enter. If you’re going from sunny and warm ports to snowy and chilly locations you have to remember to pack shorts and sweats!
Be sure to check your entire itinerary and plan for each port accordingly.
